Thailand and Australia are the major sources of the natural color black gem. Harder than onyx or jet, black spinel is more suitable for jewelry.
Consisting of a ten-strand torsade necklace comprised of 2.5 mm micro-faceted black spinel beads, completed by an 18K white gold clasp set with diamonds, length 16 ½ in; together with a torsade bracelet composed of briolettes and round stones, completed by a simple 18K white gold barrel-form clasp, length 6 ¼ in.
