Fossil Palm Wood carving of a Lizard

By Mikhail Kristi
Born in Moscow in 1968, sculptor Mikhail Kristi was educated at the
Moscow Professional Art College where he specialized in Furniture Design and Woodcarving. Several of the items he designed and carved are now exhibited at the Moscow Furniture Museum. Now a resident of Los Angeles, he has since experimented in different media, such as bronze and has recently started carving unusual stones. The present very three-dimensional and life-like carving of a lizard is fashioned from a rare piece of fossil palm wood probably from Indonesia. Signed MK for Mikhail Kristi. Length 5in
