Group of Decorative Fossil Limestone Objects

Pakistan
Fossilferous limestone is a sedimentary rock that consists of calcite or mineral calcium carbonate. Most limestone is of organic origin and represents the calcareous remains of small plants and animals, usually saltwater organisms. This limestone contains fossil shells that lived on the floor of the Tethys Sea between the colliding sub-continent of Pakistan-India and Asia during the late Mesozoic Era. The matrix between the fossils is fragments of other fossils broken up on the surf prior to its lithification into limestone. The group consists of four fossil limestone bowls and four platters. (8)
