The Woolly Mammoth is one of the most famous Ice Age mammals. Its territory covered Northern Europe, Eurasia and North America. Approximately the size of the Asian Elephant, Woolly Mammoths have been found frozen in their entirety in Siberia, and their likenesses are present in cave paintings in Europe. Early man hunted them for food and clothing, which may have at least partly caused their extinction. The present Woolly Mammoth femur, or thigh bone, exhibits good bone structure, especially at the femoral head. Part of the opposite (distal) end is absent. Measures 43 x 13 x 9 ½in
