Botherolepis canadensis

Escuminac Formation, Miguasha Bay, Quebec, Canada
A bottom dwelling armored fish, or Placoderm, displays intricately preserved ornamentation of its armor and a partial tail. Possessing a small head with eyes on top, Botherolepis would have hugged the ocean floor like a stingray and may have used its long armored arms for locomotion. There are several orders of Placoderms; Botherolepis canadensis belongs to the Antiarcha, Family Bothriolepidae. Measures 9 ½ x 9 x 1 ½in
