Native South Americans told Spanish explorers of the heavy metal that fell from the sky that gave rise to the name of the locality, which translates as Field of the Sky. Campo Del Cielos are a polycrystalline, coarse octahedrite with a significant amount of silicate-graphite-troilite inclusions. This specimen shows the desirable thumbprints, or regmaglypts highly prized by collectors. Weighs 11 pounds
