Collection of Twenty Small Tools

Upper Paleolithic - 10,000 – 15,000 years old
Erg Oriental Region, Central Algeria

An assortment of chert and flint tools shows evidence characteristic of tools of the Aurignacian culture. The unilateral-flaked pieces were surface-collected in an ancient desiccated lake bed; the partial lacustrine coatings imply a prolonged exposure to water.(20) Measures 12 x 8 1/2 x 1in
