Broadarrow, Central Gold Fields, Western Australia
This spectacular, large, highly three-dimensional nugget is viewable from all sides and capable of standing on its own. Classified as semi-crystalline—it is of rudimentary crystal form—with quartz crystal intergrowths, now dissolved, leaving hexagonal castings. There are still small traces of quartz crystals evident in three or four locations as well a couple of traces of arsenopyrite associates. The front is sharp and rugged while the reverse side has a entirely different sense of individuality with its semi-molten surface. The rich buttery patina is gleaming and resplendent. A museum-quality display specimen with wonderful aesthetics making it an excellent choice for the collector. Weighing 84.04 ozt (2614.0 grams) and measuring 6 ¾ x 3 ¾ x 2in
