A perfect collection created to illustrate several classic forms of diamond crystallography including: a black spherical diamond from Bahia, Brazil, weighing approximately 2.06 carats, known as a “Ballas”—these black, spherical diamonds are polycrystalline—i.e. they having several crystals radiating from a common center. Also included are: a dodecahedron from Africa, weighing approximately 0.895 carats; a cubic diamond from the Congo, otherwise known as a “hopper cube” with natural cavities, weighing approximately 0.87 carats; an octahedron from Africa, weighing approximately 1.69 carats; and a macle from Africa, weighing approximately 1.97 carats.
