A group of items related to the career of child star, Dickie Love, whose first role, at age six, was in the 1939 Bing Crosby film "Star Maker." Collection includes three of his personally-used scripts, his 1943 contract from Universal Pictures, 26 black and white stills from his films and a directory titled 'Universal Personalities' which depicts headshots and bios of the stars signed to that studio in 1943-1944. Also included are two fascinating, handwritten datebooks from 1942, likely kept by Dickie's mother, outlining his day-to-day activities at all the major studios in Hollywood. Interesting entries include "April 16 - spent the day at Columbia watching dancers Ann Miller, Rita Hayworth/April 21 - Dick spent the week at Palm Springs...at Darryl Zanucks!!/Nov. 10 - MGM arranging music for Fred Astaire dance" among countless other notes mentioning all the industry players of the day. Dickie's datebooks are so detailed they could now serve as a history of Hollywood for the year 1942 .
