The very rare "Street Survivors" Album with the flames on the cover, immediately replaced after the devastating plane crash with an all black shaded-in background. Signed by all seven original members: Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, Leon Wilkeson, Artimus Pyle, and Billy Powell. Very clear and bold signatures. This album finds Lynryd Skynyrd at the height of their creative and commercial powers. Then on October 20, 1977 the band's plane ran out of fuel during a flight from Greenville, SC, to Baton Rouge, LA, and the plane slammed into the Mississippi swamp land. Ronne Van Zant, Steve Gaines, his sister, back up vocalist Cassie Gaines, and road manager Dean Kilpatrick died in the crash, and the other members of the band were seriously injured. Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of the most influential and indeed the last of the great Southern road bands. With hits like "Sweet Home Alabama," "Tuesday's Gone," and the immortal "Free Bird," Skynyrd along with another band visited by tragedy, The Allman Brothers, formed the apex of that musical movement. An extreme rarity, with the hole punch to the lower right corner indicating the album was for promotional purposes.
