A Walt Disney celluloid from “Sleeping Beauty”

1959, gouache on celluloid, depicts a small image of Briar Rose wearing a full-length hooded cape, applied to a hand-prepared gouache background, matted and framed.

Marc Davis animated Aurora (along with other Disney women such as Cinderella and Cruella De Vil) and created a mature woman both physically and emotionally, a character much different than Snow White, who seemed emotionally too young to fall in love.
3 x 1 ½in image size; 10 ½ x 14 ½in within mat
