A group of Chinese figures sit on the bankside watching the activities on the river. Barges from the British embassy are approaching the footbridge and will have to lower their masts in order to pass under it. The figures comprise a complete range of ages and amongst them are a boatman seated to the left of the bank and a young archer standing to the right.
