Miss Emily Davis, as a young girl, seated with hands clasped in her lap, wearing black velvet dress with white lace collar and sleeve adornments, coral pink ribbon trimmings, a matching ribbon in her brown hair.
Enamel, signed and dated on the obverse C. Glardon/ 1875, inscribed on the gilded counter-enamel Miss Emily Davis/ en 1875/ Genève, original ormolu frame with rose and pierced ribbon above and laurel branches tied with tasselled tie below.
