General Vesey, Equerry to HRH the Duke of Kent, wearing scarlet coatee with gold epaulettes, sky blue facings, his white cross belt with silver belt plate.
Wood frame with inner gilt-metal mount, the reverse inscribed with sitter's details.
Oval, 73mm. (2 7/8ins.) high

In June 1798 a George Vesey is recorded appointed as Colonel of the Dublin County military. He was possibly descended from Agmondisham Vesey of Lucan, Co. Dublin, the 2nd son of the Reverend John Vesey, Archbishop of Tuam, Privy Councillor and Lord Chief Justice of Ireland.
