Colonel George Northcoate, wearing scarlet coatee, with blue facings and silver lace, a silver bullion epaulette on his left shoulder, indicating Field Rank, the strap of the epaulette with blue ground and silver lace tracing.
Signed with initials and dated, HH/ 1790, rectangular gilded wood frame with inner black velvet panel set with oval beaded and gilded frame with inner turned wood border, the reverse inscribed in ink, on back of miniature/ Lt. Col. George Northcoate/ Painted by Horace Hone/ in Dublin 1790.
