Footnotes
The iron steam yacht 'Giralda' was designed and built by Ramage & Ferguson at Leith in 1880. Originally named 'Fair Geraldine', she was rigged as a three-masted schooner and registered at 191 tons gross (130 net). Measuring 148 feet in length with a 21 foot beam, she was a handsome vessel and was purchased from her original owner by Mr. Harry McCalmont of Grosvenor Place, London, in 1889. Renaming her 'Giralda', he kept her until 1894 when he replaced her with a new and much larger 'Giralda II', selling his existing vessel to the French Comte de Camondo who re-christened her 'Geraldine'.
