A Cased Pair Of Flintlock Pistols Of Carbine Bore
By William 3 Parker, Holborn, London, No. 1479, Circa 1800

With browned twist octagonal sighted barrels each engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and breech, the latter engraved 'Holborn, London' along the top flat, gilt fore-sights, foliate engraved case-hardened tangs each incorporating a back-sight, signed case-hardened flat bevelled locks (one cock replaced) engraved with foliage on the stepped tail and each with blued safety-catch, semi-rainproof pan and blued steel-spring with roller, figured full stocks (minor chips, one fore-end partly replaced), rounded butts chequered apart from the pommels and a flat strip along each side, blued steel trigger-guards each with pineapple finial and engraved with a Britannia shield and foliage on the bow, blued turned ramrod-pipes, horn-tipped ramrods, and much of their original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case with some accessories including later Hawksley powder-flask, the interior of the lid with facsimile Parker, Field & Sons trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying handle, Tower private proof marks
