A Pair Of 15-Bore Flintlock Turn-Off Pistols
Probably By William Turvey 2 Of London, Circa 1745

With turn-off cannon barrels, tangs each secured by a screw and extending over the breech, actions (one pan repaired, one top jaw and screw old replacements), swelling moulded figured butts each carved with a shell behind the tang and inlaid with silver wire scrollwork, cast and chased silver mounts comprising dragon side-plates with foliate tails, foliate escutcheons each engraved with owner's crest, grotesque mask butt-caps, and iron trigger-guards each with foliate finial (in worn and pitted condition overall), London proof marks and maker's mark: in a modern relined and refitted wooden case
