A 20-Bore Flintlock Officer's Pistol, And An 18-Bore Flintlock Pistol
The First By Stephen 1 Sandwell, Circa 1775, The Second Signed Wilson, Mid-18th Century

The first with signed border engraved rounded lock (comb of cock incomplete, top jaw and screw replaced), figured full stock (minor chips and splits) with apron around the barrel tang, border engraved brass mounts comprising side-plate, vacant escutcheon, pommel and trigger-guard, and later brass-tipped ramrod (worn overall, steel parts pitted), London proof marks and maker's mark; the second reconverted from percussion, with signed border engraved rounded lock, figured full stock (fore-end repaired) carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, brass mounts comprising cast and chased falchion and severed heads side-plate, vacant rococo escutcheon (probably replaced), border engraved spurred pommel, and trigger-guard with foliate finial, and later horn-tipped ramrod (steel parts with some pitting, worn overall) (2)
