An Irish 22-Bore Flintlock Duelling Pistol
By Louis Alley, Dublin, Circa 1780, Relocked And Restocked By Stephens, Bristol, Early 19th Century

With octagonal sighted barrel signed within a border between scallop shells along the top flat at the breech, tang finely engraved with foliage within a border of beadwork, signed flat bevelled lock (top of cock missing) with roller, figured full stock (repaired above the lock) with broadly chequered rounded butt, steel trigger-guard engraved with flowerheads on the bow and with acorn finial, and original horn-tipped ramrod (steel parts patinated overall), private Birmingham proof marks
