An Unusual Pair Of Irish 16-Bore Flintlock Travelling Pistols
By McDaniel, Probably John, Monaghan, Circa 1820

With twist sighted barrels each with rectangular gold-lined maker's mark within the sighting groove at the breech, the latter each with silver line, foliate engraved tangs each incorporating a back-sight, border engraved locks each with rectangular platinum-lined maker's mark, engraved 'French' cock and roller, figured half-stocks with chequered rounded butts, the latter each with silver butt-cap, border engraved steel trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, vacant silver escutcheons, white-metal fore-end caps, and stirrup ramrods (2)
