A 54-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistol, And A 32-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pistol
The First By Richards, Probably John 1, Circa 1775, The Second By Griffin, Benjamin, Bond Street, London, Circa 1765

The first with turn-off cannon barrel, border engraved action decorated with rocailles and foliage and signed within a scroll on one side, sliding trigger-guard safety-catch engraved with a flowerhead on the bow, and figured rounded butt inlaid with silver wire scrollwork (some losses, butt-cap replaced, steel parts rust patinated), London proof marks; the second with turn-off cannon barrel, border engraved action (cock replaced, steel-spring missing) signed within a foliate scroll on each side (one side partly re-engraved), engraved sliding trigger-guard safety-catch, and figured flat-sided rounded butt (minor damage and bruising, steel parts worn and rust patinated), London proof marks (2)
