A Pair Of 40-Bore Percussion Target Or Duelling Pistols
By Lacy & Co., London, Circa 1853

With twist octagonal sighted barrels signed along the top flat, engraved breeches and tangs, the former each with platinum plug, the latter each incorporating a back-sight, signed border engraved detented flat locks (one hammer spur missing) each decorated with scrolling foliage and fitted with an engraved safety-catch, figured half-stocks (some bruising, one split behind the lock) with chequered rounded butts, foliate engraved steel trigger-guards each with stylised pineapple finial, vacant white-metal escutcheons, set triggers, white-metal fore-end caps, and steel-tipped ramrods, probably original (one broken, the other seized, one ramrod-pipe loose, steel parts rust patinated), London proof marks (2)
