Two 55-Bore Percussion Box-Lock Pistols Forming A Pair
Signed Van Wart Son & Co., London, Mid-19th Century

With twist octagonal sighted barrels each engraved 'London' along the top flat and with silver line at the breech, foliate engraved white-metal actions each signed on top at the breech, foliate engraved white-metal trigger-guards and butt-traps, the latter each with hinged circular cover, vacant white-metal escutcheons, rounded chequered butts, white-metal under-ribs, and stirrup ramrods (some wear overall), Birmingham proof marks (2)
