A Cased .442 Five-Shot Double-Action Rim-Fire Revolver
Retailed By J. Grainger & Son, Toronto, Circa 1860

With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with scrolling foliage at the muzzle and breech, blued top-strap engraved with retailer's details within an oval framed by foliage, blued cylinder with knurled forward edge, blued border engraved frame decorated with scrolling foliage, trigger-guard en suite, sprung loading-gate hinged at the top, bright hammer and hinged cartridge-extracting lever, blued foliate engraved butt-cap, chequered figured rounded butt, and much of its original finish (blueing flaked in places): in original fitted oak case lined in blue baize with bullet tray and some accessories, the exterior of the lid with circular brass escutcheon, Birmingham proof marks
