A Very Rare 54-Bore Pennell Patent 'Hammerless' Six-Shot Self-Cocking Percussion Belt Revolver
Retailed By W. Chance, Son & Co. Of London, Circa 1855

With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with retailer's name along the top flat and with foliage around the muzzle (barrel-catch and detachable rammer missing), cylinder numbered from '1' to '6' and engraved around the forward edge, patent open frame engraved with scrolling foliage and with safety-stud on the left side, enclosed stricker (defective), foliate scroll engraved tang, trigger-guard and butt-trap with hinged circular cover, vacant silver escutcheon, chequered rounded butt with flared pommel, belt hook, and very faint traces of original finish, Birmingham proof marks
