With reblued octagonal sighted barrel signed in full along the top flat, plain cylinder with recessed nipples, reblued foliate scroll engraved action and trigger-guard, engraved off-set bar-hammer, reblued butt-cap with hinged butt-trap cover engraved with a flowerhead, chequered rounded butt, and silver escutcheon engraved with owner's crest: in original fitted oak case (keyhole escutcheon missing) lined in blue velvet with some accessories including G. & J.W. Hawksley pistol flask (cut-off spring incomplete), the interior of the lid with maker's illustrated trade label with clipped corners, the exterior (split) with shaped brass escutcheon engraved with owner's details 'John Charles Goug, Kilworth House, Lutterworth', London proof marks
