With rebrowned twist sighted barrels each stamped 'Stubs Twisted' beneath the breech, breeches each with gold-lined maker's oval (gold lines missing, touch-holes replaced in brass), tang engraved with foliage, signed border engraved flat bevelled locks each decorated with gamebirds on the stepped tail, cocks en suite, semi-rainproof pans, and steels (replaced) each with a roller bearing on a ramp on the steel-spring, figured walnut half-stock with cheekpiece and chequered grip, steel mounts comprising butt-plate engraved with a gundog and gamebirds on the tang, and scroll trigger-guard with pineapple finial and a gundog flushing gamebirds in a landscape on the bow, engraved silver rear ramrod-pipe, vacant shield-shaped silver escutcheon, and later brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks
