A Percussion Brass-Barrelled Blunderbuss, Two Continental Flintlock Guns, And The Parts Of An English Percussion Gun
The First Signed Mole, All 18th/19th Century

The first converted from flintlock, with two-stage brass barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, octagonal breech, engraved tang and signed bevelled lock, full stock (damaged and repaired) now with chequered grip, engraved brass mounts (trigger-guard finial replaced), and brass-tipped ramrod (worn overall), Tower private proof marks; the second comprising an Italian gun (barrel reduced, trigger-guard missing) with brass side-plate engraved with a hound pursuing a hare, and pinned butt-plate engraved with a portrait bust of the Goddess Diana within a suspended medallion, a sun-in-splendour above (worn and rust patinated overall), and a brass-mounted sporting gun with engraved brass mounts (cock and ramrod missing, in worn and pitted condition); the last converted from flintlock, incomplete and in poor condition; together with a barrel from a flintlock service musket (rusted overall) (4)
