A Percussion Sporting Gun With 25-Bore Indian Matchlock Barrel
By P. Bond Of London, Circa 1800

Converted from flintlock, with long sighted barrel with punched and matted finish chiselled at the slightly flared muzzle and breech with a repeated design of waves and quatrefoils, foliate engraved tang, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock with safety-catch, figured half-stock (some bruising) with cheekpiece, foliate engraved steel mounts including scroll trigger-guard in the French taste with pineapple and urn-shaped finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons each with pineapple finials, and horn fore-end cap (steel parts rust patinated overall, ramrod missing)
