The first with sighted barrels signed along the matted rib, foliate scroll engraved breeches each with engraved platinum plug, signed foliate scroll engraved locks (one defective), hammers and mounts, the former each with safety-catch in front of the hammer, the latter comprising chequered butt and trigger-guard with chequered spur, figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, cheekpiece, and wooden ramrod (incomplete, one action defective, one trigger incomplete, steel parts pitted throughout); the second in similar condition, with octagonal leaf-sighted barrel (ramrod-pipes missing) signed in full along the top flat and rifled with ten grooves, breech (nipples incomplete) with platinum lines and platinum plug, foliate scroll engraved tang decorated with a stag, signed lock and mounts decorated en suite, the former with engraved safety-catch, the latter including hinged circular patch-box cover and trigger-guard with chequered spur, ebonised half-stock (some scratching and bruising, fore-end cap and barrel-bolt escutcheons missing) with chequered grip and fore-end (split), set trigger, and original ramrod (tip missing), London proof marks (2)
