A .36 Manhattan (Navy Type) Series II Six-Shot Single-Action Percussion Revolver
No. 8843, Circa 1859-68

With octagonal sighted barrel stamped 'Manhattan Fire Arms Co. Newark N.J. Patented March 8. 18. 1864' along the top flat, cylinder with 1859 patent date and roll engraved oval foliate panels with military and naval scenes, frame, brass trigger-guard and grip-strap retaining traces of original silvering, rammer, varnished figured rounded grips, and matching numbers: in its contemporary leather holster (worn through at the muzzle) (2)
