The first with sighted barrel retained by a spring-held brass barrel band and stamped 'Starr Arms Co. Yonkers N.Y.' in front of the folding-leaf back-sight, action with falling-block operated by an under-lever also forming the trigger-guard and secured by a sprung catch, long tang stamped 'Starr's Patent Sept. 14th 1858' behind the breech, back-action lock indistinctly stamped 'Starr Arms Co. Yonkers N.Y.', figured fore-end and butt (both bruised), brass butt-plate, and steel saddle-ring; the second of characteristic form, the butt with brass butt-plate and hinged butt-trap cover (both with some wear and rust patination overall) (2)
