A French 9MM (Perrin Thick-Rim) Six-Shot Self-Cocking Rim-Fire Pocket Revolver
No. 696, Circa 1860

With blued sighted barrel, blued octagonal breech engraved with foliage, blued serial numbered cylinder and frame en suite, the latter stamped 'Perrin & Cie Bte' on one side and 'Paris' on the other, hinged loading gate and sprung folding trigger, spring-held arbor pin, sprung safety-stop, figured rounded butt, and some original finish
9.7 cm. barrel

Louis Perrin & Cie is recorded as a gunmaker and inventor in Paris from 1845. The company was awarded medals at the Great Exhibition in London of 1851 and at the Paris Exhibition of 1855
