A German 22-Bore D.B. Flintlock Sporting Gun
By H. Anschütz & Söhne, First Half Of The 19th Century

With long twist sighted barrels stamped with maker's name, 'Suhl' and 'Damast' beneath the breeches, gold-lined touch-holes, border engraved case-hardened tang inlaid with silver lines and engraved silver foliage, rounded case-hardened locks signed in elaborate gold script and inlaid with engraved silver and gold foliage on the tails, the borders inlaid with engraved oak foliage in silver and gold, rounded cocks en suite, and each with gold-lined rainproof pan and roller, figured half-stock with chequered grip (repaired) and fore-end, cheekpiece, case-hardened mounts engraved with foliage partly inlaid with silver and inhabited by a swan on the tang of the butt-plate and an eagle perched on a branch on the bow of the scrolled trigger-guard, the latter with elaborate finial, rear ramrod-pipe with finial en suite, border engraved shield-shaped silver escutcheon engraved with owner's initial 'C', sling loops, original horn-tipped ramrod (tip wormed), and much original finish
