A Bullet Crossbow
By Ward, Almost Certainly James, Warrington, No. 520, Circa 1815

With slender steel bow, original strings (some fraying) with bone spacers, built-in gaffle retained by a catch at the rear, signed border engraved back-sight decorated with foliage and a starburst, sprung folding fore-sight, acorn-shaped finial, figured gun-stock of fully developed form with chequered grip, steel mounts comprising scrolled side-plates, serial numbered butt-plate, and engraved trigger-guard with pineapple finial (steel parts with some rust patination)
