A collection of thirty-nine finely drawn and detailed designs for fortifications and defensive positions, each signed and dated, many inscribed with descriptive notes, pen and ink with watercolour (39)

Footnotes

Richard Goodwin Bowen Wilson served in the campaigns in Holland, Belgium and France, and was present at Quartrebra and Waterloo in 1815. He was near Pickton when the latter was killed and was the last survivor of Rogers' Waterloo Battery. He was Superintendant at Shoeburyness during the Crimean War and died as a Major-General ret'd. on 24 October 1876
