An Unusual Mahogany Double Gun Case
Early 19th Century

Fitted and lined in green baize (some compartments loose and incomplete, one compartment lid damaged) for a pair of flintlock guns, the exterior of the lid with flush-fitting brass carrying handle and large circular escutcheon; together with a chain-link dog collar, the identification plate with inlaid brass plaque engraved 'Mr. Thomas Armitstead, Netherton, Nr. Huddersfield' (2)
