An English Broadsword
Mid-17th Century

With tapering double-edged blade cut with three central fullers over each side of the forte, iron 'mortuary' hilt comprising solid guard chiselled with a human head within a foliated oval on each side, a scaled monster above, and slender knuckle-guard connected to two side-bars by a scrolled bar on each side (one incomplete) and screwed to the globular pommel, the latter chiselled and with prominent button (grip missing, rusted overall)
