With slender tapering blade of stiff diamond section retaining traces etched of foliate decoration within double line borders on each flat below the ricasso, recessed rectangular ricasso etched with the date above a panel of foliage against a hatched ground on one side, and with a coat-of-arms on the other, and tapering polished root-boxwood (dudgeon) hilt (minor splits) of octagonal section, swelling at the domed top and with characteristic lobes (repaired) at the base, the former with domed brass tang button
