An Early Dagger
Late 14th Century

In excavated condition, with tapering single-edged blade of triangular section, hilt comprising short arched quillons with blunt ends, and open bronze pommel of slightly tapering square section with roped borders, one side retaining a gilt plaque etched with a shield in a circle against a stippled ground
