A 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sabre
By Prosser, Circa 1800

With curved fullered blade signed 'J.J. Runkel, Solingen' along the back at the forte, the forte etched and gilt against the remains of a blued ground with foliage, a trophy of arms and crowned 'GR' monogram on one side, and with pre-1801 royal arms on the other, regulation steel stirrup hilt, pommel and back-piece in one, and wire-bound ribbed leather-covered wooden grip, in original wood-lined steel scabbard indistinctly signed on one side at the top, and with two rings for suspension (hilt and scabbard with surface rust and light pitting overall)
