A 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sabre
Early 19th Century

With curved fullered blade signed 'J.J. Runkel, Solingen' along the back at the forte, the forte etched with trophies and crowned 'GR' monogram on one side, and with royal arms and motto on the other, regulation steel stirrup hilt, faceted pommel and back-piece in one, and ribbed leather-covered grip bound with twisted wire, in its steel scabbard (minor splits, some pitting) with suspension ring (the other missing)
