A 1788 Pattern Light Cavalry Trooper's Sword
Late 18th century

With long curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, regulation steel hilt comprising ovoidal langets, downscrolled rear quillon, D-shaped triangular knuckle-guard, pommel and back-piece in one piece, the latter with flat peaked cap, and cord-bound leather-covered grip (worn), in original wood-lined black leather scabbard with iron mounts including linear engraved deep locket and chape, and with two rings for suspension (some light pitting overall)
