A Russian Cavalry Sabre Of 1913 Pattern Awarded For Bravery
Reign Of Tsar Nicholas II (1894-1917), Circa 1913

With curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, brass hilt retaining traces of gilding and comprising two bars of oval section swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the upper one engraved 'For Bravery' in Russian, downscrolled rear quillon, flat hexagonal langets, the inner one stamped with hiltmaker's name 'Likhache'v' in Russian, pommel and back-piece in one, the former with threaded ovoidal cap with applied Order of St. Anne (originally gilt, enamel missing), and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in its black leather scabbard (damaged and incomplete) with brass locket, chape and suspension mount each engraved in line ornament and retaining faint traces of original gilding, and with two rings for suspension
