With bright curved Solingen blade double-edged at the point (minor pitting) and cut with three fullers over nearly its entire length on each side, the forte stamped with maker's name 'F. Fichte, Solingen' on one side, and with maker's marks above 'W.K & C.' on the other, gilt-copper regulation hilt comprising two bars of oval section swept-up to join the knuckle-guard and each engraved 'For Bravery' in Russian, downcurved rear quillon, flat hexagonal langets, the inner one engraved with indistinct recipient's initials, pommel and back-piece in one, the latter with cypher of Nicholas II in an oval on the back above a border of laurel, threaded ovoidal cap with applied red enamelled (minor chip) Order of St. Anne, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in its wood-lined black leather scabbard with gilt-copper locket, chape and suspension mount each engraved with double lines, and with two rings for suspension
