With slightly hollow ground blade double-edged towards the point and signed 'B. Daniel Kirschbaum Manufactuier D'Armes Blanches De La Marque au Raisin A Sohlingen' along the back at the forte, the forte on one side etched 'Regiment De Soubise' in foliated letters, and 'Vive Le Roy', the crowned arms of France on a martial trophy above, all between panels of scrolling foliage, gilt-brass hilt comprising scallop-shaped side-guard cast with the crowned arms of France and joined to the D-shaped knuckle-guard by two integral side-bars, slender pommel and back-strap in one, and ribbed leather-covered grip (wire binding incomplete, some wear and rust patination overall)
