With tapering double-edged blade of flattened hollowed diamond section etched in gothic script between a dragon and foliage on one side of the forte 'Pro. Fide. Et. Patria', and 'Fide. Sed. Cui. Vide.' on the other, hilt comprising upturned shell-guard with inner thumb-ring, large basket-guard above of circular bars comprising three curved bars on each side joining a bar at the front extending to form a blunt projection, and two bars at the back curved up to form a circle on either side of the projection, straight quillons with rebent spherical terminals, large globular pommel with flattened button, and grip bound with twisted steel wire (some rust patination overall)
