With slightly curved fullered blade (point with some pitting) double-edged towards the point, the forte etched and gilt against a blued ground (some wear) on each side with sprigs of foliage and the inscription 'Pour Le Soutiens Du Droit de L'Homme' within foliated borders, brass hilt comprising knuckle-guard pierced with linked circles and with cusped edges, pivoting side-guard en suite and secured by a spring-catch, pommel and back-piece in one, and grip bound with partly twisted copper wire, in original black leather scabbard with brass locket and chape, the former with frog-stud and ring for suspension
